NHS-Funded and Private Abortions

Contact us to know more about NHS funded abortion care as well as private options available

Can I get an abortion on the NHS?

98% of the clients we see in our clinics have their treatment funded by the NHS. This means that there will be no cost to you for your abortion.

Your GP can refer you to our abortion services, if you like. However, you may also be able to refer yourself for an abortion with us, and don’t have to tell your GP about wanting an abortion if you don’t want to. Call our advice line on 0345 300 8090 to check if you’re eligible for NHS funding, and to book a consultation.

Want to know more about NHS abortion?

We have created a new "NHS Abortion" dedicated page in order to help you find all the information you are looking for about NHS funded abortion care.

What if I don’t qualify for NHS funding?

If you’re not eligible for NHS funding, we also provide private abortion treatment.

You’ll find a list of our fees further down this page.

You can pay in cash (pound sterling or euros) or by credit/debit card – and you’ll need to make the payment in person when you come to your appointment. If someone else is paying for you by card, they’ll need to come too.

If you think you’ll have any difficulty paying for your abortion, please call us to discuss this before your appointment.

Pregnancy test

MSI Reproductive Choices provides a pregnancy test for FREE during consultation.

Home pregnancy tests are also available both on the high street and online. Your local pharmacy will sell a range of reliable testing kits.

It's important to remember that the result will not be reliable until about 3 weeks after you had unprotected sex, or after your period is due. If you have any doubts, repeat the test, contact your GP or call our advice line.

As part of your abortion treatment, we can help you find a method of contraception that best suits your individual needs. If, following your abortion, you choose to start a contraceptive method, you may find this cost list useful:

  • LARC methods (IUS, IUD, IMPLANT): £115
